We see ourselves as family-focussed and, being a parent initiative, we need high engagement and all kinds of supporting work from the parents in different areas.
As the parents are part of the kindergarten, they show their children their own example of engagement and being pro-active. The parents have the opportunity to contribute their skills and know-how. The work of the parents and their participation in the decision-making help the children to see the kindergarten as an extension of the family and feel a strong sense of identity with this community.
We want to closely follow the development of the child together with the parents. To better understand and develop the child, there are extensive parent-teacher talks in the form of a partnership and also informal chats in passing to discuss particular development steps.
At least once a year, there is a formal feedback meeting between the teachers and the parents of a child. Here, the parents are infomed about their child's social behaviour in groups, ability handling conflicts and, later, the readiness of their child for school.
