Partnership with the Parents

  • We see ourselves as family-focussed and, being a parent initiative, we need high engagement and all kinds of supporting work from the parents in different areas.
  • As the parents are part of the kindergarten, they show their children their own example of engagement and being pro-active. The parents have the opportunity to contribute their skills and know-how. The work of the parents and their participation in the decision-making help the children to see the kindergarten as an extension of the family and feel a strong sense of identity with this community.
  • We want to closely follow the development of the child together with the parents. To better understand and develop the child, there are extensive parent-teacher talks in the form of a partnership and also informal chats in passing to discuss particular development steps.
  • At least once a year, there is a formal feedback meeting between the teachers and the parents of a child. Here, the parents are infomed about their child's social behaviour in groups, ability handling conflicts and, later, the readiness of their child for school.
