The educational aims of Lerchennest are firstly based on the general aims of the August 2005 Bavarian child education and supervision laws (BayKiBiG) and related guidance (BEP).

Beyond this, we have created a specific concept for our educational work, developed together with the teachers and parents.

Our most important goals are:

  • Support the children in acquiring basic competencies - the fundamental abilities of a child to interact with others and approach the surrounding world with curiosity
  • Develop social competence, especially in social interaction and handling conflicts, in experiencing one's own limits and recognising the limits of others
  • Build up cognitive competence, especially in terms of perception, memory, creativity and problem-solving
  • Strengthen emotional competence, through development of a feeling of self-worth, self-confidence and personal responsibility, especially in relation to one's own body

Our special learning areas are:

  • the subject of health, numbers (basic understanding of maths), exposure to nature and the environment
  • language development, especially English and German
  • intercultural awareness and integration
