Collaboration with our Staff

In total, we have 9 teachers working in 4 groups, plus 1 special pre-school teacher for the pre-school work. Themes are developed within each group. Activities, which go across groups, are handled by the whole team.

In terms of organisation, the first point-of-contact for parent representatives and the managing committee is the lead teacher of the kindergarten.

In weekly team meetings, all general issues, educational problems, group plans, trips and other external activities are discussed.

When needed, we have a regular meeting ("Jour Fixe") between the board and the team, where plans and problems can be dicussed together. Normally, at least one parent representative is also present at this meeting.

In contrast to the Team Meeting, where mostly educational issues are discussed, in the Jour Fixe it is mostly organisational topics which are discussed and decided.

The teachers regularly take part in skill enhancement trainings either individually or in groups. The acquired know-how is then passed on to the other team members in order to cover a wide range of subjects (Some examples are: protection from sexual abuse; masks, fairy-tales, transformations; various Montessori courses; education courses at the "Fernuniversität Hagen").

Occassionally, when necessary and desired, the parents help out the teachers with supervision.
